You Haven't Lost

Market turmoil always creates angst in investors…the professionals as well as the regular investors.

The phrase “…the market hates uncertainty…” is currently on display. Sell offs are occurring daily and it is difficult to determine if these sell offs are from fear, special information (NOT insider information) or simple profit taking. The current “Earnings Season” has been better than expected in many sectors.

The effects of COVID, the lockdowns, and supply chain issues may soon (we hope) be in the rear-view mirror. Getting people back to work, correcting these supply chain problems (generally demand problems…a good thing!) should get the economy back on track, help to reduce inflation and create some of the certainty the markets want.

Bottom line, learn from the past and stick to your plan, assuming you have one. How can you consider yourself a serious investor without one?

So, now may NOT be the time to panic and to sell. Be patient and follow your plan and your portfolio should recover.
